It took me some thought to post this, because I was torn. Most people will publically celebrate the good their kids do, but keep the bad within their household (because its embarrassing🤷🏾♀️). I've learned to simply accept the bitter with the sweet & be selective with whom I share information, when it comes to mine & my kids' personal life.
I do know that sometimes, in life, we are faced with decisions that challenge us. They can make or break the future, & even present moments!
When there's a decision to be made, you have to look at the bigger picture! "What will this cost me? What's more important? How can I choose better!?" are questions that should ALWAYS be asked of ourselves before we make any moves.
I've made my share of bad decisions. I probably still make them, but 1 things for certain (& 2 for sure), I will ALWAYS ride for my children, & give them tools that will help sway their thinking into the right direction. I can only HOPE that, when I'm not around, they use them!👀
So, no; I don't get to celebrate my child's accomplishments in the way that I would've liked😔🥴....because of a decision he made🤷🏾♀️. I am, however, proud of him (very proud), nonetheless☝🏾!! Proud of the dedication & the wherewithal that he continues to possess! Proud of the man he is becoming! Proud of the lessons he has learned from this situation, & will hopefully apply to FUTURE decisions👀! Above all, I am proud that he understands what matters more than anything in this world💪🏾!
